International Economic Growth
Taking your business global
According to a report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada’s economy experienced significant growth at an annual rate of 3.7 per cent through the first quarter of 2007, which helped increase the value of the Canadian dollar.
After three quarters of declines, production of goods rose by 0.9 per cent. The expansion came mainly from the energy sector, wholesale and retail trade, the financial sector and construction.
Canadian stocks also advanced after Canada's biggest trading partner, the United States, added 157,000 jobs. Rising oil and metal prices also lifted shares of commodity producers.

Thank you Mr. Pincus
Gregory Pincus, revered as the “Father of the Pill”, created the first practical oral contraceptive, the birth control pill, in the 1950s.
Pincus and his team of researchers generated a series of experiments proving that progestin, a synthetic form of the female hormone progesterone, prevented ovulation in animals. After successful testing on humans, the FDA approved the distribution of Enovid®, the first birth control pill,
in 1960.

International Advocacy
Facts of doing international business
Midwesterners are known for being open, friendly, polite, trusting and straightforward.
The United States’ Midwestern region is known as the nation’s “breadbasket” for its abundance of cereal crops such as wheat, oats and corn. It is believed that the surplus of these crops, as well as the abundance of livestock, which produce waste that can be used for making biofuels, will
strengthen the Midwestern United States’ economy due to the growing demand for environmental-friendly alternatives to fossil fuels.
According to a joint study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. could produce 60 billion gallons of ethanol by 2030, enough to replace 30 percent of projected gasoline demand without harming food, feed or fiber production.
Additionally, according to BIO, processing just 30 percent of the U.S. corn stover into biofuels would reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 90 million to 150 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.
